Luanda - The Angolan Ombudsperson Office role was praised, Tuesday in Luanda, by the leadership of the Evangelical Pentecostal Church Power of God in Angola (IEPPDA) during an audience granted to it by the institution's chairperson, Florbela Araújo.
During the meeting, the IEPPDA Staff Group's deputy-chair, Dorena Madiamba, stated that the Church has sought to cooperate with public institutions, in order to resolve issues linked to the registration of minors, lack of civil marriage, issues with survival pensions and training for the formalization of informal work for its members and other interested citizens.
She informed that the institution has been following the work of the Ombudsperson's Office, given its impact on society.
For this reason, the meeting also served to present to the Ombuds Office some concerns of citizens regarding certain public bodies, who on the occasion received a guarantee from Florbela Araújo about their follow-up.
During the meeting, IEPPDA members were also informed about the axis of the institution's activities, presented by the director of Specialized Areas, Ana Mota, who also highlighted the increase in the number of complaints to more than seven thousand, in 2023.
In turn, the Ombudsperson, Florbela Araújo, mentioned the institution's most recent actions, citing cases of compensation, as a result of the action of this independent entity and defender of fundamental rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens.
Florbela Araújo also presented the institution's next challenges and international experiences, highlighting the duty of cooperation of some entities that contribute to resolving complaints presented by citizens.
She highlighted the fact that the institution is the credible Mediator of conflicts between citizens and public administration.
