Luanda - Angolan President João Lourenço congratulated his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the National Day of his country on Wednesday, July 14th.
In a message addressed Thursday to the French statesman, João Lourenço said that he notes "with satisfaction the great role played" by France, in the context of building solid democracies and the freedom of peoples, all over the world.
He also highlighted the fact that, throughout its history, France has exerted a positive influence, "to promote balance in the approach to major world issues and favour the harmonious development of all the nations of our planet".
The Head of State took the opportunity to praise the initiatives taken by France in favor of mitigating the consequences resulting from the current global health crisis.
Finally, the Angolan statesman highlighted the importance that the Government of the Republic of Angola attributes to the continuous strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
Diplomatic and cooperation between Angola and France date back to January 1977.
