Ramiros - The Inspector General for State Administration, Ângelo Veiga Tavares, Wednesday in Luanda Province recognised the involvement of society in the fight against corruption, through public denunciations.
Speaking to the press, he said that society in general and the media in particular have played a very important role, through denunciations, many of them in anonymous ways.
He pointed out that all Angolans should feel like inspectors, in order to help the General Inspection of State Administration (IGAE) in its tasks.
On the other hand, the inspector general pointed to training and increasing staff, improving the salary situation and building infrastructure as the main priorities in the short and medium term.
As for the salary situation, without giving any further details, he said that the remuneration statute for IGAE employees would be approved soon, and emphasised that the institution was in the process of certifying its overdue debts.
The IGAE is an auxiliary body of the Head of the Executive Branch with the mission of carrying out internal control of the Public Administration, by inspecting, monitoring, auditing and supervising the activity of all the bodies and services of the direct and indirect administration of the state, as well as the autonomous administrations.
To this end, as part of its 34 years of experience, it held a workshop for more than 200 officials, with the aim of training them in matters related to the fight against corruption.
