Luanda - The Government proposed on Friday to reduce the amount for Radio broadcasting licensing from 250 million kwanzas to 150 million kwanzas, under the scope of the Proposed Law on Broadcasting Activity, under discussion in the Parliament.
The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Media, Manuel Homem, informed the Parliament's specialised committees that, under the terms of the Law in force, the licensing of a Radio of national and international scope costs 250 million kwanzas.
"What we are proposing is a reduction to 150 million kwanzas, that is, if during the period of validity of this Law a little more than 50 Radio Stations appeared, we believe that, with the reduction we will be creating conditions for the appearance of other Radio Stations with national and international scope", he expressed.
The Minister Manuel Homem made it known that the sector has been following the appearance and development of Radios, reminding that, currently, there are more than 50 private radios licensed in the country.
According to the minister, the sector is committed to the improvement of plurality and, among the various factors that contribute to this desideratum, he identified the reduction of costs for the licensing of radio stations with national and international coverage.
