Luanda - United States Friday reiterated permanent support for the Angolan Government and people in promoting peace and stability in the region and strengthening democratic institutions.
The commitment is expressed in a message from the US President Joe Binden, posted on the White House’s official website page, ahead of 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries on Friday.
In addition to the eradication of corruption and building an inclusive political process in Angola, the document alluded to the two countries’ commitment to face the challenges of climate change and boost peace, prosperity and cooperation across the Atlantic region.
The document also states that Angola and US are expanding economic cooperation via additional investments through partnership in infrastructure and quality and sustainable global investments that connect Angola to global markets.
In his message, Joe Biden said he was looking forward to deepening the partnership between both nations and friendship between the two peoples, at a time the two nations are forging a better future.
Angola is the third-largest US trading partner in sub-Saharan Africa, with stress to the field of oil exports.
The two countries cooperate in several areas, mainly in the fields of trade, finance, energy, manufacturing, security, health and justice.
