Talatona - The Chinese ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, reaffirmed, on Monday, in Luanda, the role of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, health and technology as fundamental axes of the bilateral relationship.
Zhang Bin, who made this statement at a press conference on the 2024 Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, said that pragmatic cooperation between the two nations has been continuously developed and consolidated.
For the ambassador, “China is a champion of cooperation with Angola in several areas, mainly in the economic and commercial sectors, where it is the largest importer of Angolan products and the main source of investment for the country”.
Among the various projects developed by China in recent years in Angola, he highlighted the provision of donations to CINFOTEC Huambo, Luanda General Hospital, Agricultural Technologies Demonstration Center in Mazozo and the Venâncio de Moura Diplomatic Academy.
Recalling the 41 years of cooperation, he said that relations between China and Angola have their origins in the period of struggle to achieve national liberation. "The two states are naturally good partners and good brothers.”
Within the framework of this relationship, he also added that China always takes into account mutual respect and equal treatment. “It never assigns political preconditions for cooperation or interferes in Angola’s internal affairs.”
The diplomat also said that between the two countries there has been mutual assistance on issues linked to fundamental interests and main concerns, jointly safeguarding the international system and multilateralism with the UN at the center.
