2022 Elections: Civil Society comments on MPLA’s Governance Programme

Luena – Several segments of civil society in Moxico province considered this Wednesday in Luena, the policies contained in the MPLA's governance programme for 2022/2027 as "inclusive and ambitious".

Speaking to ANGOP, in reaction to the presentation of the ruling party's programme to members of the civil society, the participants highlighted the
consolidation of peace and the promotion of balanced and harmonious development in the territory.
 

On the occasion, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moxico, Agrione Manuel, said that the programme, to be voted on at the polls
on 24 August, could strengthen the country's agricultural and business sector.
 

The official hopes that there will be more actions that allow the growth of the business class, as well as the continuity of projects aimed at the
financial empowerment of families, such as Kwenda.
 

The information secretary of the Provincial Youth Council (CPJ), José Bambi, highlighted the MPLA's intention to dedicate special attention to the
quality of education, promotion of more scholarships, creation of youth employability and the construction of more housing.
 

On the same note, the pastor of the church Bom Deus, Domingos Júlio, said that he is “optimistic about the implementation of this governance plan”,
because it foresees the construction of more social infrastructures.
 

His opinion is shared by the village chief, Dias Tchamokomoko, who believes that the effective implementation of this policies will improve the quality
of life of families.
 

In turn, the president of the Provincial Football Association (APFMX), Lilito de Freitas, believes that the sports policies outlined by the
majority party will make the practice of sport more comprehensive and inclusive.
 

In his speech, the MPLA's first provincial secretary, Gonçalves Muandumba, reiterated that the party "is the guarantor of national stability, as it is
a party that is renewed according to the context and is continuously concerned with the problems of the population".
MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA, PHA, APN, P-NJANGO and CASA-CE are candidates for the August 24 general elections.
 

Across the country, 14,399,000 voters are registered, of which 22,560 are in the diaspora, spread across 12 countries, this being the first time that
 

Angolans abroad are going to vote. In Moxico, 599 polling stations are available for 416 thousand voters.
