Moçâmedes - Businesswomen in the south-west Namibe province have been informed on the governance programme of MPLA party for the next five years.
This was on Monday (08) at Expo-Mulher/2022 - Women’s Fair 2022 - under the motto “women committed to peace and development”.
Addressing the event, sponsored by MPLA party’s women wing (OMA), the candidate for MPLA MP for the provincial constituency, Ema Samali, announced her party’s plan which, according to her, consists of ensuring the evolution towards a model of society that values and supports the choices of young women.
She said that it is the MPLA's intention to guarantee the participation of women in the country's social and economic development process, with the engagement of churches, non-governmental organisations and others from civil society, with the promotion of actions aimed at gender equality.
The MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA, PHA, APN, P-NJANGO and the CASA-CE coalition are running for the August 24 elections.
At least 14.3 million voters are expected to vote in 2022 elections.
