Luanda – Angola's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, is on a working visit to Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
According to a press release ANGOP had access on Wednesday, the government official will fulfill an intense agenda related to the political and diplomatic issues with high-level personalities from Nicaragua to assess common issues.
Esmeralda Mendonça is expected to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nacaragua, Denis Moncada, the Speaker of Parliament, Gustavo Porra, as well as the Presidential Counselor for Promotion, Investment, Trade and International Cooperation, Laureano Ortega, among others.
Angola and Nicaragua have diplomatic relations which was officially established on 6 September 1979.
Nicaragua, located between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, is a Central American country known for its impressive landscape of lakes, volcanoes and beaches.
Its main agricultural products are coffee, cotton, bananas, sugar cane, rice, cassava, corn, pineapples and other products, and it is also one of the main Central American countries in terms of farming.
