Luanda - The Cuban ambassador to Angola, Esther Armenteros Cárdenas, highlighted, in Luanda, the support and solidarity provided by the Angolan government and people, at a time when her country is going through a particularly difficult moment.
Speaking at a virtual conference alluding to the 68th anniversary of the 26 of July Movement, the diplomat thanked the Angolans for their contribution and efforts, especially President João Lourenço.
The diplomatic representative of Cuba spoke of the ties of friendship between the two countries, highlighting the presence of about 1,000 Cuban health technicians working in Angola.
Esther Calderon also condemned the violent actions that have taken place in Cuba in recent days and which were carried out by elements opposed to the Cuban Revolution.
"These elements have acted in an opportunistic manner, taking advantage of the economic problems the country is experiencing. Through a media campaign made up of lies and slander, these elements called for civil disobedience with actions totally contrary to the interests of the country," she stressed.
The occasion also served for the presentation of extracts from speeches by President Fidel Castro, as well as the display of images of the various islands that make up the Cuban archipelago
