Luanda - Election campaigning entered its fifth day Friday with mass rallies and door-to-door campaigns across the country.
The head of lists of the eight contending political parties for general elections of 24 August held mass rallies as a strategy to convince the electorate, in addition to making use of their airtime slot on National Radio and Public Television of Angola.
PHA
The Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), with main focus on young people, pledges to create more jobs.
The party leader, Florbela Malaquias, stressed this on Thursday during the party’s airtime on National Radio Station.
P-NJANGO
Apart from attracting voters, P-NJANGO is also concerned about the promotion of civic-mindedness during the electoral process.
The party leader, Dinho Chingunji, used Thursday's airtime on Angolan Public Television to call on contestants to be more responsible and serious about their commitments to the people.
UNITA
UNITA party leader, Adalberto da Costa Júnior, who is trying to convince voters in central Bié province, announced plans to create housing projects for families with low income in the country.
FNLA
Friday, the FNLA, led by Nimi a Nsimbi, promotes training on the voting process and on the composition of the polling stations, addressed to 607 party agents.
CASA-CE
The CASA-CE representation in Lunda Sul province staged Friday in Saurimo, Lunda Sul province, a march in favour of free elections.
The event was chaired by its provincial secretary, David Camati, who reiterated the investment of its political party on human capital, if it wins the 24 August general election.
APN
Thursday the Alliance of National Patriotism (APN) expressed its intention of implementing a totally free higher education in public institutions, if it wins the general elections next month.
The party’s vice president, Noé Francisco Dias Mateus, said during the party’s airtime on Public Television that the project is one of the axes of his party's government programme.
PRS
The president of PRS, Benedito Daniel, chaired a rally in the eastern province of Moxico during which, he said that his party will focus on building schools in the most distant locations of the cities.
The candidate for President of the Republic said that the country's development, according to his political party, also entails the promotion of family agriculture aiming at food self-sufficiency.
MPLA
MPLA's candidate, João Lourenço, said on Friday in Menongue that if he wins the elections on August 24 he will implement several projects in the fields of roads, energy and water in order to improve the living quality of the population.
He was speaking at a mass rally in Menongue city, south eastern Cuando Cubango province, as part of the next elections on August 24th.
On Thursday's radio broadcast on National Radio of Angola (RNA), the ruling party leader said that over 472,000 families were benefiting from electricity as a result of projects developed over the last five years.
