Luanda - Angolan president João Lourenço and the former Tanzanian Head of State, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Wednesday in Luanda analysed the country’s political issues.
High on agenda of the meeting was the general elections, scheduled for 24 August in Angola.
Jakaya Kikwete did not speak to the press at the end of the meeting.
Kikwete was President of the United Republic of Tanzania between 2005 and 2015.
The former Tanzanian head of State, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, has been in Luanda as an observer of the electoral process, at the invitation by the Angolan president, João Lourenço.
At least 50 foreign entities will monitor the general elections, expected to bring together seven political parties and one coalition.
Roughly 14.3 million voters, including 22.560 residing abroad, are eligible to vote in the polls.
Angola will hold its fifth elections, after those of 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017, all won by the MPLA.
