Luanda - Angola is attending the 90th Session of Interpol General Assembly taking place from 18-21 October in New Delhi (India).
The Secretary of State for the Interior José Paulino da Silva is representing the country at the event, which is addressing the strategic partnerships and global security.
The meeting will also discuss matters related to international police cooperation, in the context of prevention and combat cross-border organised crime, states a press release.
The participants will also discuss Interpol's structuring principles, such as operational issues, global threat assessment, strengthening of the collaborative response to financial crimes and corruption, governance and data processing, as well as policing adapted to the new technological scenario.
With more than one hundred member countries, Interpol is one of the largest international institutions dedicated to mutual assistance in preventing and fighting crime, through the exchange of information, technical resources and the promotion of police operations.
Angola joined the organisation in 1982 during the 51st session of the Interpol General Assembly held in October in Torremolinos, Spain.
