Luanda - Angola participated from Jan 21st to 23rd in Taipei, Taiwan, in the International Workshop on combating new psychoactive substances and investigating illicit financial transactions.
According to a press release, Angola was represented by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) officer and master in Cyber Crimes, Vladimir Congo.
The note states that the officer was invited due to his exemplary academic performance, at an event promoted by the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF).
The meeting brought together delegates from 44 countries and also served to discuss crucial issues associated with the fight against organized crime and money laundering around the world.
In addition to high-level panel discussions, the program included visits to the Forensic Science Lab, the Customs directorate, Taiwan Police University and the International Police Museum.
Participants exchanged experiences for three days, considered practical and enriching.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Angolan expert gave a lecture at the Taiwan Police University.
In his speech, Vlademir Congo shared experiences in investigating cybercrimes, receiving praise from the cadets and authorities present.
The GCTF is an informal, apolitical, multilateral counterterrorism platform that contributes to international architecture and deals with terrorism.
In addition to the commitment of the 32 GCTF's members, the forum welcomes valuable contributions from non-member countries, such as Angola, international and regional organizations, as well as civil society organizations.VIC/CF/jmc
