London - Strengthening cooperation in the field of coffee marked the agenda of the meeting, Wednesday, in London, between the Angolan ambassador to the United Kingdom, Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, and the Executive Director of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), Vanúsia Nogueira.
The ambassador, who attended the hearing in his capacity as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Angola at the ICO, based in London, defended “an uninterrupted flow of information from the Angolan Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Permanent Representation with the International Coffee Organization and vice-versa, with a view to taking advantage of the organization’s strengths and making investments in Coffee viable in the country”.
During the meeting, the technical assistant for the Representation of Angola at the International Coffee Organization, Edmilson Ângelo, was officially presented to the Executive Director of the institution.
Angola is one of the ICO exporting members, the only intergovernmental organization for coffee, which brings together exporting and importing governments.
Since its inception in 1963 under the auspices of the United Nations, the OIC has consistently committed itself to assisting its Members in the development, mobilization of funds, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sector development projects with the aim of promoting sustainable growth for the benefit of all interested parties, from coffee growers to consumers.
