Luanda - A cooperation agreement on Privileges and Immunities was signed Wednesday in New Delhi, India, between the Angolan authorities and representatives of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), in order to allow Angola to organize the 26th African Regional Conference.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the organization´s General Assembly, which is taking place in the Asian country, with the delegations being led by INTERPOL´s Secretary General, Jurgen Sotck, and the Angolan Secretary of State for the Interior, José Paulino Cunha da Silva.
On the occasion, Jurgen Sotck recognized Angola´s commitment to strengthening its actions in Africa and in the World, in general, therefore, he said he was very pleased to sign the agreement, in order that the organization's biggest event in Africa take place in the southern African country, probably in October next year.
To José Paulino Cunha da Silva, Angola is one of the most active members of the organization, so it does everything to honour its international commitments as a member state of INTERPOL.
The agreement aims to allow the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to fulfil the missions defined in its constitution, facilitating international police cooperation and the operation of its bodies, as well as the commitment of the member states to complying with the organization's rules.
