Luanda - Angola and India's department of foreign affairs are studying mechanisms to boost, in the upcoming years, bilateral cooperation in different areas.

The Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad, Domingos Vieira Lopes, received, on Monday, in audience, the Indian Ambassador, Vidhu P. Nair.

According to a note to which ANGOP had access, topics such as increasing bilateral relations, as well as strengthening mutual cooperation on several domains, were at the center of the conversation.

Regarding multilateralism, the parties assessed the possibility of promoting new alliances focused on the environmental and energy domain, in order to promote the preservation of the environment and renewable energy.

The audience granted to the Indian ambassador is part of the action plan in the field of bilateral cooperation between Angola and India to develop the well-being of the people of the two respective States.

The current state of cooperation between the two countries is privileged and tends to step up to new levels.

The Republic of India is a country in South Asia and the seventh largest in the region.

It has a population of approximately 1.4 billion inhabitants, which gives it the status of one of the most populous countries in the world.

Its economy was worth US$3.7 trillion back in 2023, making it the fifth largest in the world, registering a significant increase in the world ranking. SC/CF/DOJ
