Luanda - Angola and Brazil recently analysed, in Brasilia, the relaunch of the Strategic Partnership in the field of agriculture and agribusiness, between the two countries.

According to a press release, the issue was addressed during a working meeting between the Angolan ambassador to Brazil, Manuel Eduardo Bravo, and the Brazilian Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro.

The Angolan diplomat expressed interest in speeding up the establishment of public-private partnerships aimed at implementing projects that help create self-sufficiency and food security.

He explained that in Angola there is peace, stability and legal security, factors that provide a mild climate to invest with tranquility.

He recalled that President Lula's visit to Angola, in August last year, opened a new chapter where agriculture is a fundamental axis for the realization of the green revolution.

For his part, the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil, Carlos Fávaro, acknowledged that Angola is a country of opportunities.

He expressed his intention to send a government and business mission to Angola next December to formalise business, conclude agreements and consolidate comprehensive agribusiness programmes.

According to Carlos Fávaro, time is pressing, more than talking, action is needed, streamlining processes, making connections and getting to work.

Angola and Brazil maintain cooperative relations in several areas.

Angola is home to the largest Brazilian Community in Africa, estimated at about 30 thousand citizens. VIC/DOJ
