Dundo - The promoters of events and artists of the eastern Lunda Norte province on Tuesday called on the local government to build cultural centers to promote the various arts, with the aim to push the culture sector forward and contribute to economic diversification.
During a meeting between the event promoters and the Provincial Office for Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports in Lunda Norte, promoters suggested the rehabilitation of 1º de Maio square to host mass cultural activities, while waiting for the construction of new infrastructures.
They also advocated the promotion of festivals for the dissemination and valorization of Tchokwe folk music, theater, dance, and others funded by the government and partners.
They encouraged the government to implement concrete projects to attract more national and foreign tourists to the province through cultural tourism.
