Luena - The path of the reign of Ngola Kiluanji kya Samba at kingdom of Ndongo is to be portrayed in a film called "Ngola - The Legacy of Kiluanji kya Samba", to be released between March and August 2022.
The drama-fiction genre is a production of the Akwafrica group and the Angolan Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual with the support of the ministries of Culture, Tourism and Environment, and Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media.
The casting of the film is currently taking place in Luena city further in other provinces of the country, over a period of three months.
Speaking to the press, António José Augusto "Tony Nguxi", spokesman for the project, said the film, which will take 90 to 110 minutes aims to rescue the African culture and make known to the world the figure of this Angolan sovereign.
Without mentioning the film's budget, he explained that the idea is to revolutionize the Angolan cinematographic industry, by showing the life and places where the monarch was, particularly in Moxico, Huíla, Bengo, Uíge, and Luanda.
He said that the script is based on current research, conducted in the places where Ngola Kiluanji kya Samba lived and spent most of his time.
