Luanda - The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment on Saturday handed over the awards and diplomas to the winners of 2021 Live Carnival.
União 10 de Dezembro, winners of class A, received two million kwanzas, Jovens da Cacimba, second place, took 1,5 million kwanzas, while União Kwanza, third place, received one million kwanzas.
The winners of class B, União Domant, was awarded 1.5 million kwanzas, União Operário Kobocomeu, second place, one million kwanzas, and third, União Kwanza, got Kz 750,000.
In this regard, the National Director of Culture, Euclides da Lomba, reaffirmed that Live Carnival served to show a new vision of producing a show that could be watched from home.
"The initiative served to show the potential of Carnival in terms of the variations of dancers, music, among other cultural aspects," said Euclides da Lomba.
The National Director of Culture explained that the intention of the sector is to convert the Carnival into a profitable product, as it implies tourism, restaurants, big stores of fabric sales, as it happens in other countries.
