Luanda - Angola's minister of Culture, Tourism and Environment Jomo Fortunato, Sunday spoke of the need to bring more support for Angolan artists.
Jomo Fortunato was speaking on the sidelines of a visit to the Angolan musician Anselmo Júnior "Marito", a legendary guitarist of the Kiezos group.
The minister announced plans to provide more affective support (moral and material) for Angolan creators.
He praised and recognised their contribution to the national artistic panorama and to allow them to convey their knowledge to the new generation.
"This is the first of the many visits to the figures of Angolan culture aimed to respond to the current situation of artists and art makers," said the minister.
Anselmo de Sousa Arcanjo Júnior "Marito", who plays viola solo, he founded the musical group Kiezos in 1966, alongside Kituxi (viola rhythm), Fausto Lemos (tombs), Adolfo Coelho (dikanza) and Avozinho (drum).
In 2017, the Kiezos musical band was honored at the Luanda Triennial, for their more than 50 years dedicated to the Angolan popular music.
