Luena - The Cultural Researcher, Salvador Cacoma, said Monday in Luena, Moxico province, that schools should encourage students to go to museums to have contact with the cultural, historical and ethnic reality through the museological pieces.
Speaking to ANGOP on the International Day of Museums marked on May 18, Salvador Cacoma said cultural research, especially museum pieces, are useful because they portray the culture of a certain people, culture and history.
The specialist said he regrets that museums in the eastern region of Angola are almost forgotten, having appealed to history teachers to encourage students to do research on museum pieces as a way to contribute to the dissemination of the habits and customs portrayed in these objects.
In Moxico, the Culture office has scheduled several activities such as lectures on the importance of museums in police and military units and visits to museums, monuments and local historical sites.
