Humpata - Mexican chef Eduardo Carsolio, a private party professional, is in Huila for the first time on his first trip to Angola, where he expressed interest in learning how to cook some of Angola's gastronomic dishes to further replicate them at his events.
Chicken with peanut and fufu (funge de moamba de galinha), one of the typical dishes of Angolan gastronomy, is the main interest of the Mexican, who hopes to get to know more cultures and learn to cook for more people in the world, as well as continuing to learn about history and people.
The official cooker of the climbers taking part in the 1st edition of Angola International Climbing Festival taking place at the Serra da Leba ciliffs admitted that he knew little about Angolan cuisine, which he accepted the challenge of coming to the country to learn more.
‘I'm curious to learn about Angolan food and for that I have the help of Angolan women in the kitchen. I want to learn how to make chicken with peanut and fufu,’ He said.
Speaking to ANGOP, the source said it was an ‘incredible experience’ and a challenge he has accepted from the event organizers to cook for people from different parts of the world, including Angola, whose population is welcoming.
Eduardo Carsolio said he brought tortillas, Mexican bread and pastas of different flavors and types, which to his surprise he found in the local market, the quality of which does not differ from that of his country, although he found more options, which is satisfactory for him as a professional.
Eduardo Carsolio has been a chef for 15 years and, in addition to Mexico, he has already experienced the cuisine of countries such as Thailand, New Zealand, the United States of America and Canada.
The 1st Angolan International Climbing Festival taking place in Huila includes other activities such as slack lining, a bolting workshop, route development, climbing classes, search and rescue workshops for the police, firefighters and technicians from the Angolan National Institute of Medical Emergencies, as well as live music, film nights, traditional dance and local handicrafts.
