Uige - Three hundred and 57 students, trained in different technical courses at the Polytechnic Institute of Uige (IMPU), were launched into the job market, after four years of vocational training.

These are high school graduates in the courses of Informatics, Civil Construction, Machinery and Motors, Renewable Energies, Electricity and Design Design, for the academic year 2023/2024.

At the closing ceremony, which brought together teachers, students and parents, the deputy governor for the Social, Political and Economic sector of Uíge, Sónia Arlete Domingos Cahombo, said that the launch of the new graduates into the labour market will allow the creation of new jobs.

On the occasion, the director-general of the Polytechnic Institute of Uíge, Manuel Distinto Fernando, said that since the creation of this educational institution in 2009, 2,918 students have been trained in the six courses taught at IMPU.

He informed that, through the different programs promoted by the Ministry of Education, eight teachers successfully completed, in 2024, the training in innovation of dynamic teaching methods and five engineers finished, at the Higher Institute of Education Sciences of Uíge, the postgraduate training in pedagogical aggregation.

He recognized the contribution that IMPU has made in setting up new technology systems in the education sector, and highlighted that the body he directs is a school that the province places the hope of the transformation that is intended with technical-vocational education.

In a ceremony full of color, light and a very festive atmosphere, the outstanding teachers and students received certificates of merit. EPP/JAR/DOJ
