Luanda - The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, Tuesday in Luanda advised the country's universities to extend and deepen cooperation relations with the best universities in the world in various areas of knowledge.
Manuel Nunes Júnior, who was speaking about the Government's view of the role of engineering education in the country's sustainable development, said that they were aware that the distance separating Angola, in terms of scientific and technological knowledge, from the most advanced countries in the world was enormous, so it was necessary to be quick and effective in taking measures so that "this distance diminishes or disappears.
As part of the first national meeting on the teaching of engineering in Angola, the State minister noted that the challenge facing developing countries was to make the most of society's knowledge, so that they could be part of the team of winners in the globalisation process in which they are involved.
He said that the Government wants to build a fair, equitable and developed society in Angola, from the cultural, scientific and technological point of view, in which hunger and misery are eradicated, based on equal opportunities for all citizens, with emphasis on human development and justice in the distribution of national income.
He reiterated that what makes the difference are factors such as the intelligence of solutions and modern technology, based on highly complex scientific knowledge, and defended firm, courageous and sustained measures, without fear of some not being pleasant.
