Luanda – Angola’s Vice President Esperança da Costa will chaired  the 1st Ordinary Session of the Multi-sector Commission on the Implementation of the project for Girls’ Empowerment and Learning for All (PAT II) on Thursday.

The move will contribute to the sustainable improvement of the quality of Angolan education and teaching aimed at strengthening the education system, with innovative solutions for children, youths and adults, always with a particular look and attention to girls and adolescents.

The USD 250 million project, for the next five years,  features concrete actions that will result in the empowerment of girls and adolescents.

The working agenda, reached  ANGOP, includes the presentation of the Report of the Project for Girls' Empowerment Learning for All - PAT II, the Action Plan of PAT II for 2023, the Mapping of Angolan Public Schools and the Proposal for the creation of a Technical Group of the Multi-sector Commission.

The recently created commission by presidential decree, will be in charge of enforcing TSP II's general strategic direction, proposing the drafting of technical studies, reports and stock taking  on TSP II's duration and monitoring and scrupulously complying with the three structural components of TSP II, such as empowering Angolan girls, reducing learning poverty in Angola and management.

The commission's objectives also include monitoring and evaluating the project, as well as developing tasks aimed at creating technical, material and human conditions to stimulate and guarantee implementation of PAT II.

The commission is coordinated by the Vice-President and assisted by minister of Education as deputy coordinator.

It also comprises ministers of Finance, Health, Environment, Youth and Sports, Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women, and Public Administration, Labour and Social Security, Territorial Administration and Energy and Water. VM/DAN/NIC
