Cabinda - Angolan ambassador to the Republic of the Congo Vicente Muanda has advised on the transfer of management of the Consular School of Point Noire (Republic of the Congo) to the government of the northern province of Cabinda (Angola).
The Consular School of Point Noire, attached to the Ministry of Education, was created in 2001 and legalised by the Angolan Government in 2006.
The teaching institution was set up with the goal to ensure a teaching and learning process in Portuguese language to the children of Angolan citizens residing in Point Noire city.
Vicente Muanda, who was speaking to the press at the end of a meeting with the governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, believes that the transfer of management will contribute to the better monitoring of the institution in matters linked to the upgrading the teaching staff, school management and inspection services.
“We are asking for the consular school’s transfer to the government of the province of Cabinda and the provincial secretary of education to facilitate its management and the creation of permanent school inspection mechanisms”, he added.
The Angolan consular school has five classrooms. Some 230 students from the beginning to 9th grade were enrolled this year.
