Luanda - The credit lines for operation of the Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Substitution Programme (PRODESI) approved, since the beginning of the programme to date, a total of 1,819 projects, amounting to Kz 926. 038 billion.
The data were released by the Secretary of State for the Economy, Dalva Ringote, during the assessment of the four years of implementation of PRODESI.
In that period, she said, 2,439 projects were submitted to the bank, of which 475 were in the negotiation stage.
Speaking at a meeting, as part of the closing ceremony of the 37th edition of FILDA2022, Dalva Ringote said that the 1,819 projects approved will be reflected in the increase of the companies' turnover.
Forty-eight, of the 475 projects submitted to the bank, concern the notice 10/2020 of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), 328 refer to the Credit Support Programme (PAC) and 98 represent other instruments.
Dalva Ringote also mentioned 371 projects as having been approved, corresponding to 660. 086 billion kwanzas.
Deutsche Bank (from Germany) approved eight projects worth 189.06 billion and the Support Programme (PAC) has 769 projects approved, worth 30.3 billion kwanzas.
The financing for the purchase of agricultural and fisheries inputs, with 15 projects approved, absorbed 1.082 billion kwanzas, the official added.
The Secretary of State noted that activities aimed to improve the business environment in 11 areas.
Six of them were considered critical (starting a business, obtaining credit, registering property, executing contracts, resolving insolvency and majority investors).
Five comprehensive, namely work permits, obtaining electricity, paying taxes, international trade and cross-cutting activities).
In the field of national producers, PRODESI registered 88,098 producers in the country’s 18 provinces, with stress to 16,667 from Huíla, 9,842 from Malanje and 8,075 from Bié, she stressed.
Prodesi, approved on 20 July 2018 by Presidential Decree, is an executive programme aimed to speed up the diversification of national production and generation of wealth, in a set of productions with greater potential for generating export value and substituting imports.
The sectors named in this programme are those of Food and Agro-industry, Mineral Resources, Oil and Natural Gas, Forestry, Textiles, Clothing and Footwear, Construction and Public Works, Information and Telecommunications Technologies, Health, Education, Training and Scientific Research, Tourism and Leisure.
The 37th edition of FILDA brings together 629 national and foreign exhibitors, represented by 15 countries. The event took place on 16-20 July.
