TAAG's first Boeing Dreamliner lands at international airport

Luanda - The first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of the four acquired by the Angolan airline TAAG landed on Thursday at the International Airport (AIAAN), in the province of Icolo e Bengo, reinforcing the long-haul fleet of the Angolan flag carrier.

With a capacity of 313 passengers, the aircraft from the United States of America  landed on Angolan soil at 12:14 pm with 50 passengers, including members of the crew and the board of directors of TAAG.

The aircraft, named "Namibe", will initially operate intercontinental flights (Portugal and Brazil) and is characterized by a high level of comfort, technology and interior design.

From an operational point of view, it is an efficient aircraft in terms of fuel consumption and environmental sustainability, with a 25 percent reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions compared to the previous generation.

The ceremony to welcome TAAG's new acquisition was presided over by the Minister of Transport, Ricardo D`Abreu, and witnessed by the Governor of Icolo and Bengo, Auzílio Jacob, the Secretary of State for Technical Assurance, Cristino Mário Ndeitunga, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Angola, among others.

TAAG has been operating for 86 years and is the leading company in the Angolan aviation market, recognized worldwide, with sustained growth.

It currently has a fleet of 22 aircraft, including Dash 8-Q400 (6 aircraft), Boeing 737-700 (7), Boeing 777-200 (3), Boeing 777-300 (5) and an A220-300, and flies to 12 domestic and 11 international destinations.ACC/CLAU/ASS/AMP
