Luanda - The Angolan government injected over 212 billion kwanzas, from 28 May to 24 June, for the execution of 1,679 projects of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), launched in 2019.
According to the national director for Public Investment, Juciene Cristina, of the 1,679 projects under implementation, 170 have already been concluded in different provinces of the country, including six primary schools, five hospitals, an airport complex and roads.
These projects, which included several infrastructures and services, were mainly carried out in Luanda, Benguela, Cabinda, Lunda Norte and Cuanza Norte.
The official, who was speaking to the press Wednesday in Luanda, after the 4th Session of the Meeting of the Inter-ministerial Commission for Coordination of the PIIM, noted that the Plan includes a total of 1,718 eligible/approved projects for the whole country.
On the occasion, the coordinator of the technical monitoring group of PIIM, Laurinda Cardoso, made known that all the invoices that were pending were already paid last June.
Launched on 27 June 2019, in Cazombo, Moxico province, the PIIM aims to materialise actions of Public Investment, Development Support Expenditure (DAD) and Basic Activities.
It gives priority to social actions, in order to inhibit rural exodus and promote more inclusive economic, social and regional growth in the country.
