Cabinda – At least 70 women organized in agricultural cooperatives in Buco-Zau municipality, northern Cabinda province, have received small units for cassava processing.
Coupled with electrical equipment, these units will enable considerable quantities of cassava to be processed in a short time for the production of cassava flour and other by-products.
Eight agricultural cooperatives in the region received the machines purchased by the Azule Energi company, as part of the Cabinda Integrated Project (PIC), whose handover was part of the celebrations for African Women's Day celebrated on July 31.
Cabinda's deputy governor for Political and Social sector, Miguel de Oliveira, said the initiatives of this kind will continue under the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combat against Poverty (PIDLCP).
"Support of this kind helps to reduce the poverty rates of the population living in rural areas," said the deputy governor.ING/JFC/JL/TED/AMP
