Luau - A laboratory to analyse the quality of the local produced and imported food will be installed in Luau municipality, eastern Moxico province.

The installation of the Lab, set for the first half this year in the border zone with Zambia, was announced Saturday by general director of the National Service for Food Quality Control (SNCQA), Isabel Miguel.

Miguel announced this after visiting the site where the infrastructure will be installed, believed to be the first of its kind in Moxico province.

According to the general director, who did not give further details of the funds that will support the project, the future laboratory will also carry out soil and microbiological analyses.

The National Service for Food Quality Control was created in 2019 by Presidential Decree.

It is tasked with coordinating, executing and supervising all activities related to laboratory control of the health and safety of imported and nationally produced food of animal and plant origin.
