When taking stock of oil and gas exports for the 2024's last quarter, the official highlighted that, in the aforementioned period, oil was sold at a weighted average price of USD 79.78 per barrel, with China and India being the main destinations, with 51.91% and 10.02%, respectively.
In the international market, he explained, the price of Brent showed a volatile behavior, with a downward trend, resulting from the maintenance of some refineries in China and the consequent reduction in imports of raw materials by this country, along with geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
According to the secretary of State, in cumulative terms Angola exported 394.4 million barrels of crude oil in 2024, resulting in the revenue of around USD 31.4 bn (provisional data).
Regarding natural gas, in the quarter under analysis, it is reported that the country exported 1.3 million metric tons, with emphasis on LNG, with around 81%, corresponding to a gross value of USD 809.13 million. A 29% increase compared to the same period in 2023 and 5% compared to the previous three months.
He justified that the increase was due to the rise in the price of natural gas on the international market.
