Ndalatando - The Minister of Economy and Planning, Sérgio dos Santos, said today in Ndalatando that commercial banks need to adopt measures to simplify and debureaucratise credit concession processes, under the scope of the Credit Support Programme (PAC).
Sérgio dos Santos was responding to the concerns of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Cuanza Norte (AECN), expressed by its chairman, Gilberto Francisco Simão, during a meeting to hear the views of local businesspeople, as part of his three-day visit to the province.
At the meeting, the businesspeople complained, amongst other things, about the difficulties in dealing with the land concession title, a document that authorises loans, as part of the Programme to Support Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports (PRODESI) and excessive bureaucracy on the part of commercial banks in granting loans.
They explained that many projects are "stuck" at the banks due to bureaucratic issues, as the banks take a long time to pronounce on credit application processes.
They stated that excessive bureaucracy on the part of commercial banks contributes to the difficulty in accessing PAC, as well as in implementing economic projects.
