Luanda – Block CON 6 onshore - onshore oil exploration, located in the Lower Congo Onshore Basin, northern Zaire Province, municipality of Soyo, is now explored by Etu Energias S.A, a role previously carried out by the company Mineral One S.A.
The change of operator falls within the scope of Executive Decree no. 211/23, of 18 September, with operations being carried out within the framework of a Production Sharing Contract (CPP), signed between the National Concessionaire (ANPG) and the Contractor Group, according to a press release sent this Thursday to ANGOP.
As operator, Etu Energias holds 43.75% of the shares in the respective oil field, the same percentage as Mineral One, as a partner, while Prodoil S.A.R.L holds 12.50% of the shares.
Quoted in the note, the Etu Energias' board chairman, Edson dos Santos, said that the change of operator will allow his company to increase synergies with other blocks in the Lower Congo Basin, a fact that will bring speed to the execution of the program of work and reduce costs.
According to the manager, the objective is to start activities this year, benefiting from the geological, technical and operational knowledge accumulated over more than 14 years of experience in this region.
As a result, the exploration program for Block CON 6 expects to reach “first oil” in less than three years.
Likewise, the CEO aimed to create more business opportunities for local companies in terms of service provision, in line with the company's development strategy.
Etu Energias S.A. is an integrated company with exclusively private capital, subscribed entirely by Angolans, with a corporate purpose that includes research, development, production and marketing of crude oil, distribution of oil by-products, consultancy services and renewable energy.
In addition to CON 6, this oil company is currently also the operator of Block 2/05 and CON 1, as well as holds shares in blocks 3/05, 3/05 A, 4/05, 17/06 and 14/14K.
