Luanda - The AP Foods company estimates to produce roughly 325 thousand tonnes of pasta per year, starting in 2022, due to a partnership signed with the Webcor Group, linked to the agribusiness sector.
The recently signed agreement will enable AP Foods to achieve this production in the coming year, as well as integrate a large part of the value chain and diversify the product offer to the market, according to a note from AP Foods.
“With this new partnership, the two companies will profit from both the current installed capacity of 108 thousand tonnes/year and the technical skills they have, combined with the logistical capacity of the Webcor Group in terms of the sale and distribution of food products”, reads the note.
According to the document to which Angop had access, AP Foods was founded in 2016, the year it started up with an installed capacity of 20 thousand tonnes a year, and currently has about 150 direct jobs.
Meanwhile, Webcor is a family group, owner of several companies specializing in sourcing, agriculture, production and distribution of food and consumer products.
In business since 1978, the Group has a workforce of around three thousand people worldwide and a network with more than 120 points of sale in Africa.
In the Angolan market, it has a strong presence through its subsidiaries, namely Angoalissar, Grandes Moagens de Angola, Lactiangol, Imex Indústria, among others.
