Luanda - A delegation from the Angolan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA) has been in Qatar since the weekend to strengthen business cooperation with the signing of two agreements.
A press release from the Angolan Embassy in Qatar sent to ANGOP indicates that the presence of the Angolan delegation in Qatar aims to sign a Memorandum of Understanding that enables the creation of the Joint Business Council, which will be formalized on the same occasion.
The moment will also serve for the signing of the two legal instruments, scheduled for this Tuesday, at the premises of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the city of Doha, the capital of the Asian country.
The documents aim to establish a framework conducive to strengthening trade and boosting business cooperation between Angola and Qatar, while facilitating the identification of business opportunities and the attraction of private investment to the two countries.
The Angola-Qatar Business Council (CECAQ) will be responsible for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Chambers of the two countries, which will have a co-chaired management structure, with the Angolan side represented by António Henriques da Silva.
The council emerges as a strategic link to facilitate the exchange of business and investment between the private sectors of Angola and Qatar, promoting an environment of mutual cooperation and sustainable economic growth.
The delegation, led by its chairperson Vicente Soares, was received on Saturday by the Angolan ambassador to Qatar, António Coelho Ramos da Cruz.
Also noteworthy in this trip to Qatar was the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE), Manuel Francisco Pedro, and the National Director of Trade, Edna Capalo. ANM/MAG/DOJ
