Luanda - Telecommunications services, with emphasis on internet connectivity and updating of mobile coverage, in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) and Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN) will be provided by the companies Africell and SETEC.

To carry out this project, the two companies signed an agreement on Wednesday in Luanda that aims to optimise modern commercial and industrial production operations in these infrastructures.

As part of this partnership, the mobile operator will be the strategic provider of telecommunications services, mainly for internet connectivity and updating mobile coverage within the ZEE and the AIAAN.

According to the director of the Africell group for partnerships, Robert Rollman, the agreement is an important element to support new investments in the country, especially those that arise to support the Economic Zone and the New Airport.

He explained that the intention is to support Angola's economic growth by attracting more investors to the country's development process.

The source considered the ZEE as an important hub for the province of Luanda and for the country, whose investments in infrastructure can bring essential results to Angola.

In turn, the director general of SETEC, Jorge Pereira, stressed that there is a previously established protocol that will increase the consistency of the network's operation, so that it is more solid and consolidated, as well as prevent companies from being without internet.

He said it is a continuous challenge to improve what exists in the ZEE and to keep up with the challenges that companies in this complex face.

'There is a total commitment to make this agreement a success in satisfying the interests and needs of customers. We have all the conditions to perform well', he assured.

With the signed agreement, Africell will be able to ensure consistent and reliable telecommunications services, essential for the optimization of the modern commercial and industrial production operations that companies crave.

The objective is to increase the efficiency of companies operating within the ZEE, leading to greater productivity and national production.

Headquartered in London (United Kingdom), Africell is a mobile network operator that, in Africa, operates in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lerra Leone and Gambia, in addition to Angola.

SETEC is the facilities management company responsible for providing electricity, water, waste management and telecommunications services to the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone. HM/QCB/DOJ
