Lubango - Eighteen producers, representing 28 agricultural cooperatives from 5 municipalities in the province of Huíla and one in Namibe, all supported by Rural Development and Environment Action (ADRA), attended the 31st Edition of Expo-Huíla, with 7.5 tons of different products.
These are producers from the municipalities of Caluquembe, Humpata, Chibia, Cacula, Humpata, Gambos (province of Huíla) and Bibala (Province of Namibe), with the aim of publicizing their production, sales and establishing network with future customers, on the largest business exchange in Southern Angola.
Speaking to ANGOP, on the sidelines of the opening of Expo-Huíla, the coordinator of the ADRA product marketing space in Huíla and Namibe, Elisa Lucamba, said the organization's support took the form of renting space at the event and at the transport of displayed products.
She highlighted that the 7.500 tons include corn, Sorghum, several types of beans such as, catarino, canário and black, as well as sweet and reindeer potatoes, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, beets, peanuts, watermelon, papaya, lemon, cornmeal and massango.
As per Elisa Lucamba, the producers are financed by the “Bread for the World” (PPM) projects of the Union of Churches in Germany, the EU, AID from Norway churches, UNDP and the SID Forum and the exhibitors' expectation is to raise Money of around 1.345.000 Kz (US1.5k).
She mentioned that, unlike the previous one, this year's edition has 6 more exhibitors and 2 more tons of different products.
In total, ADRA works with more than 60 cooperatives with 17k beneficiaries. BP/MS/CF/DOJ
