Luanda - Petro de Luanda is seeking this Saturday (4 p.m.), in Pretoria, qualification for the semi-finals of the African Champions League in football, against Mamelodi Sundowns, in South Africa.
For the second "leg" of the quarter-finals, the match will be played at the Loftus Versfeld stadium, whereas the Angolan representative will try to keep the 2-1 lead, in Luanda.
In the reception of the South African team, last Saturday, at the 11 de Novembro Stadium, in the country's capital, the goals in the match were scored by Tiago Azulão (16') and Yano (45+1'), with Lakay (6') scoring for the South Africans side.
Despite the advantage, the "petrolíferos" will have to work hard, avoiding surprises from the opponents, that have also shown to have good players and, in conditions to revert the elimination, mainly, by playing in their field.
This is a very difficult task, but not impossible, if the Petro players are determined and can maintain the necessary concentration and are effective in the opportunities created.
The "tricolor" team travelled to Johannesburg early on Wednesday in order to adapt to the climate characterised by low temperatures, and to anticipate training in the South African soil.
In the preview of the game, Preto de Luanda head coach Alexandre Santos, considered the advantage of one goal that he takes as important, justifying that the group have arguments to defend the score and try one more victory.
In relation to the last edition of the 2019-20 "Champions", the South African team beat, in Pretoria, the Angolan team (3-0), after having registered a two-goal draw in the first "leg".
In other quarter-final matches, which also take place on Saturday, Morocco's Wydad Casablanca host Algeria's Belouizdad at 23.00.
