Luanda – Petro de Luanda face Interclube in the country's capital, for the first match of the play-off of the final of the National Senior Men's Basketball Championship.
The first of five games takes place at 6pm, at Kilamba's Multipurpose pavilion, where the board of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) decided that the entire final stage will be played.
In recent times, games between these two teams have been quite balanced.
Petro de Luanda, holders of the title, have a new coach, the Spaniard Sergio Valdeomillos, who will not be on the bench, as he is serving the second game of his suspension.
As for Interclube, coached by Apolinário Paquete, they ended up defeated in all the finals played against Petro de Luanda.
To reach the final, Petro beat Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito in the semi-finals, with a double of 100-67 and 92-91, respectively, in the best of three games.
Interclube defeated 1º de Agosto, with tight results of 101-99 and 84-83.
To remind that in the Vladmiro Romero Super Cup, played in Benguela, Petro de Luanda won, 93-87, while in the final of the Angola Cup, Interclube triumphed, 75-72, at the Cidadela pavilion, in Luanda, and consequently won the unprecedented trophy.
