Luanda – Angola’s Petro de Luanda were eliminated from the African Football Club League following a 0-0 draw with South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-final played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, in Pretoria.

The Angolan side conceded a 0-2 defeat at home and were unable to beat the opponent that practically played the entire match with 10 men after Mvala was sent off following two minutes of the game.

Mamelodi Sundowns face Egypt's Al Ahly in the semifinals.

The other teams to progress to the semi finals will be found after Wednesday's encounters between Morocco's Wydad Casablanca and Nigeria's Enymba and Tunisia's Esperance de Tunis against TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The semi-finals will be played on October 29, while the final takes place in two legs on November 5 and 11.WR/MC/AMP
