Angola has infrastructure to host the world in 2026

Luanda - The director of Development of the International Federation of Mixed Martial Arts (IMMAF), Shihan Andrey Moshanov, said Sunday in Luanda that Angola's sports and hotel infrastructures have the qualities to host the World Cup in 2026.

Speaking to ANGOP, on the occasion of the visit to check the conditions of the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion (Luanda Arena), which will also host the 8th Edition of the African MMA Championship, scheduled for May this year, the official said that the country also has the human potential for success in these two international events.

The manager, who in the morning, held a training session with the National Pre-Team, added that the African Championship will be another test and opportunity for Angola to show its potential for organization to Africa and the World.

The director of IMMAF began his working visit in the sports walk, alluding to the National Sports Day, marked on January 23, in which he walked 10 kilometers, in an organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in the area adjacent to the Kilamba Pavilion.

Monday, at 9 am, at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Shihan Andrey Moshanov will have a meeting with the minister in charge, Rui Falcão, who will address Angola's charges for the world race in 2026.

A meeting is also scheduled with the ministers of Defence and Interior, respectively, Ernesto dos Santos and Manuel Homem, to analyse aspects related to the introduction of MMA in the World Military Games.

The ministries of Education and Health, with the purpose of providing more support to the Zero Crime Project, implemented in the country by the Angolan Federation of the specialty, are also part of the meetings.

On Tuesday, the working visit of the IMMAF representative continues with the trip to the province of Uige, in which he will meet with the local authorities, to deal with issues related to the development of the same project.

The seven-day visit aims to ensure that the country is properly prepared to host this event of great importance for MMA at the continental level. BSV/VAB/DOJ
