Luanda – The Angola Football Federation (FAF) is to start in February the distribution of sports material, covering centers, clubs and schools for the promotion of women's football.
The unspecified contingent has already started to arrive in the country for further distribution, in a joint work between FAF and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MINJUD).
Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the "Claque Magazine Awards 2021" Gala, held over the weekend in Luanda, FAF’s chairperson, Artur de Almeida, said the action is part of the aid provided by the FIFA to leverage women's football.
In a visit to the country, in November 2019, FIFA president Gianni Infantino, attributed a universal solidarity subsidy of 1 million US dollars for Angola's affiliate and another 500,000 USD specifically for projects towards women’s football.
However, the destination given to this money has not been consensual among the players, who hope for a better performance to reverse the current situation considered critical.
FAF disclosed a plan for the distribution of the values comprising 40,000 USD for biosecurity due to Covid-19, 30,000 USD for technical means and 16 000 USD for each club in Girabola.
