Luanda – Petro de Luanda informed, on Monday, Jan 13, that the Dominican basketball player Rigoberto Mendoza, guard position, is an official reinforcement for the senior men's basketball team for the 2024-2025 season.
On its official page, the title holder team of the African Basketball League (BAL), in 2024, in Rwanda, states that the 32-year-old athlete, 1.92 meters height, played in several competitions in and out of his country.
In the last two years, he represented Astros de Jalisco, a 1st division Mexican club, and Mombus Obradoiro, also a 1st division Spanish club.
After a successful season, in which it won the Vladimiro Romero Super Cup, the National Championship, the BAL's 4th edition and reached the 5th place in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, in its 1st presence, Petro imposed itself the obligation to surpass oneself and do better in the 2024-2025 sports season.
Rigoberto Mendoza is the second foreign player to join the Petro de Luanda team this season after Solo Diabaté, an international basketball player from Côte d´Ivoire.
