Cuito – Several leaders of Interclube football team assaulted a journalist of the Edições Novembro, João Paulo Constantino, who was covering the match between Interclube and Cuando Cubango FC, for the 17th round of the national first division football championship 2021/2022.
At the end of the match in Cuito city, Bié province, several Interclube officials unhappy with the 0-1 defeat invaded the area reserved for media professionals, and carried out the alleged aggression.
According to reports on the spot, the leaders of the team did not agree with the note given to the refereeing team, led by Benjamin Andrade (three), by the journalist, who was commenting on the sports channel of Radio Nacional de Angola (Radio Five).
During the confusion, one of the officials was accused of threatening the media professional with a firearm.
The journalist is well but promises to take the case to court.
The president of the Cuando Cubango FC Supervisory Board, Inocêncio Moscovo, disapproved the attitude shown by the Interclube sports officials.
