Luanda - The Director of Development of the International Federation of Mixed Martial Arts (IMMAF), Shihan Moshanov, arrived in Luanda, on Thursday, Jan 23, for a visit to assess the country's infrastructures, with a view to the 8th Edition of the African Championship, to be held next April.
Shihan Moshanov will stay in Angola for 7 days, during which he will check the state of infrastructures in the provinces of Luanda, Uíge and Huambo, in addition to meetings with local authorities with a view to expanding and developing the sport.
The IMMAF director will also hold a meeting with the minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, with the ministers of Education, Health, Interior and Defense, to discuss the integration of MMA in the Military Games, where Angola will be the only African competitor.
Shihan Moshano's presence in Angola also aims to ensure the implementation of a solid development system for the sport in Angola and discuss preparations for the “Angola`2026” World Championship.
The "Crime Zero" program, initiated by the chairman of the Angolan Federation (FAMMA), Armando Diogo, was recognized as the best social project in the world, and will also be at the table.
The program's distinction took place in the city of Belgrade (Serbia), at a ceremony that recognized the most outstanding figures in Mixed Martial Arts.
The “Crime Zero Project” has already trained more than 220 champions in different martial disciplines, with emphasis on Judo, Ju-jitsu and MMA.
This project aims to combat crime and rescue youth from practices that are harmful to society, offering alternative opportunities, promoting activities that encourage the young people's personal and social development.
The project seeks not only to reduce the incidence of crimes among youth, but also to provide them with a safe and constructive environment for their growth with the implementation of Martial Arts.
