Luanda - Angola will face Morocco in Group A of CHAN'2025, which will be played in August this year, in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, according to the draw of the African Football Confederation (CAF), held on Wednesday in Nairobi, Kenya.
In addition to Morocco and Angola, the national teams of Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia are also part of group A.
The teams that are part of groups B, C and D were also paired, while the other teams (Q 2 and Q 1) that were missing will guarantee their participation through a tournament, to be held before the competition, which is for players who play in their countries.
Angola qualified for CHAN'2025, after beating Lesotho, in December, by 2-0, a game played in Durban, South Africa.
According to the history, the Angolan team will participate in CHAN for the fifth time. Angola’s best performance was in 2011, in Sudan obtaining the silver medal, where they were defeated in the final by Tunisia by 0-3.
In 2016, they reached the group stage, in Rwanda, in 2018, they reached the quarter-finals, in Morocco, and returned to occupy the same position, in 2022, in Algeria.
