Luanda – The Angolan senior men's National Basketball Team were defeated Friday by Côte d'Ivoire, 73-75, in the first round of Group C of the third qualifying round for the FIBA Basketball World Cup to be held in 2023, in Asia.
Angola that had two free throws to score and the respective ball possession with ten seconds left, showed lack of serenity, thus ending up defeated.
Childe Dundão, with 20 points, was the top scorer for Angola.
The game's statistics show how bad the Angolans were regarding free throws, scoring only six out of 22, an average of 27 percent.
In the same group, the Central African Republic beat Guinea by 61-56.
Angola face Guinea on Saturday.
